IMPORTANT NOTICE: CLOSING OF WAITING LISTS

The City of Lockport Housing Authority announces the closing of the waiting lists for both its Public Housing (all bedroom sizes) and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) programs effective February 27, 2026 at 3:30 pm.  This process is being performed in accordance with 24CFR982.206.

The waiting lists are being closed because the number of applicants currently on the lists are sufficient to meet the anticipated housing needs for the foreseeable future.  No applicantion will be accepted after the closing date and time.

Applicants who have already submitted applications will remain on the waiting list and will be contacted in accordance with program rules when their name reaches the top of the respective list.

When the waiting lists reopen, a public notice will be issued with the details on how and when to apply.
