Opening of One-Bedroom Public Housing Waiting List

The City of Lockport Housing Authority (CLHA) will receive applications for its one-bedroom Public Housing waiting list beginning on:

October 27, 2026 at 9:00 am

Applications will be available and may be returned at 301 Michigan Street, Lockport or 45 Ontario Street, Lockport, in person, by mail or by fax (716)434-6303. 

Our one-bedroom properties served by this waiting list include:  Willow Gardens, Autumn Gardens (Phase I), and The Spires.  The waiting list is restricted to one or two-person (in a relationship) households with incomes not exceeding $56,850 (one person) or $65,000 (two people).

Applicants will be selected from the waiting list by date and time of application using the following ranking:

1. Elderly (aged 62 or older) and disabled/handicapped individuals;
2. Near elderly (50-61 years of age);
3. Applicants under the age of 50 and not handicapped or disabled.

Waiting list preferences are also granted for applicants:

1. Displaced by domestic violence;
2. Displaced through government action or natural disaster; or
3. Homeless.

This waiting list will remain open until such a time that CLHA determines that the number of applicants currently on the list is sufficient to meet anticipated housing assistance needs for the foreseeable future.  All other CLHA waiting lists, including our family unit Public Housing (Gabriel Drive, Beacon Heights and David Woody apartments) and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) remain closed until further notice.
