The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently published regulation changes in reference to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). VAWA provides protections for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking. VAWA protections are not only available to women, but are available equally to all individuals regardless of sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation. These regulation changes apply to both the Housing Choice Voucher program and for Public Housing. Please refer to the following documents for more information.
